Since its foundation in 1980, the IBO has been concerned with the ecological assessment of building stoves, building constructions and buildings. As an independent, scientific association, the IBO researches the interactions between humans, buildings and the environment. The services of IBO GmbH include life cycle assessments and product testing, building physics and building simulation as well as building certification. Events such as the Vienna Congress for Sustainable Building, BauZ! and publications help to disseminate knowledge for climate-friendly buildings and neighbourhoods.
