With the draft of the EU supply chain law, which the European Commission presented in February 2022, the topic is strengthened on a political level. It is pushed in the direction of a social as well as environmental development.
In our association's work, we take a differentiated look at the construction industry. natureplus is commissioned with the research project Sustainability Supply Chain Construction, which is supported by the Federal Office for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) in the program ZUKUNFT BAU. The aim is to develop standards of ecological and social sustainability in different product categories of the construction industry across the supply chain. Requirements for responsible resource extraction in the construction industry are to be defined and made transparent by means of a declaration tool. A project overview can be found on our website www.natureplus.org under Network and Research.
Within the framework of the project we organize four conferences with relevant national and international actors and provide a rich platform for exchange, knowledge generation and knowledge transfer. Topics include certification systems, criteria compliance, risk materials, supply chain legislation, CSR reporting, industry implementation and databases. From this, all contributors can gain added value in terms of information, multi-faceted perspectives and for their own work.
